Ryder Carlson

My name is Ryder Carlson, and I was named after a golf tournament. I have been swinging a club since I could walk and I love the game. I am 14 years old and just started my freshman year at Holy Family Catholic High School in Victoria, MN. I live in Minnetonka with my mom, dad, two sisters and three cats.

I have been playing golf competitively for six years. In that time, I have been fortunate enough to travel all over the country playing in events like the Drive, Chip & Putt National Finals at Augusta in 2019, and the PGA Junior League National Championship in Scottsdale in 2021.

When I am not on the golf course or at school, I am probably working on my business. Back in 2020, I started a golf apparel and lifestyle company called Chip + Run. My mission is to give kids of all ages a brand to call their own, while playing a part in growing participation in the sport of golf by supporting organizations that foster opportunities for young players and caddies. Playing a part in helping others learn to love this game is what it is all about, and that is how Jay Norman lived his life. I am very proud to be an ambassador for the JBIRD Foundation and to promote and continue doing what Jay did to help people fall in love with golf and be the best version of themselves.
